Ohio Elections Head Seeks US Supreme Court Intervention
[Updated] Ohio’s top elections chief has requested U.S. Supreme Court intervention in a dispute filed by state Republicans, who assert the state is required to do more to help counties verify the eligibility of more than a half million new voters. (Washington Post)
Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner said the system could not be set up so quickly. “The lawsuit is a very orchestrated effort to suppress voting,” Brunner alleged. A State Republican official countered: “Yes, I am interested in suppressing fraudulent registrations.”
