Haaretz: Rumors Say Sarkozy Critical Of Obama On Iran

The Israeli newspaper Haaretz says “reports have reached Israel’s government” that “only in closed forums in France” is President Nicolas Sarkozy critical of Sen. Barack Obama’s positions on Iran. (Haaretz) He allegedly labels them as “utterly immature” and comprised of “formulations empty of all content.” A Haaretz ranking of “best or worst for Israel” ranks Sen. John McCain at 7.75 out of 10, ahead of Obama at 5.12. Hillary Clinton had received 6.62. (Haaretz)

In late July, Sarkozy reportedly said: “Obama? He’s my pal.” (Politico)
