McCain Attacks Obama To Party Crowds’ Cheers

Sen. John McCain spent most of two campaign appearances on Wednesday with full-throated attacks on Sen. Barack Obama, giving less attention to the economy. (NYT) McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin continued to link Obama with 1960s radical William Ayers and Rev. Wright in two Fox News interviews. The decision to stay negative completely belies what his top aides had spun to the press yesterday. (Politico)

Obama communications director Robert Gibbs responded by demonstrating that association need not infer guilt:
