Afghanistan Gets Worse, Warns Joint Staff Chief

The situation in Afghanistan will worsen next year unless the U.S. adjusts its policies, according to Adm. Mike Mullen, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.  (The Hill) The Bush administration launched an urgent review of its policy in Afghanistan amid concerns that it lacks a comprehensive strategy to deal with the growing Taliban and al Qaeda insurgency.
