Alaskan Sen. Ted Stevens’ Corruption Trial Begins

Jury selection began in Sen. Ted Stevens’ (R-Alaska) corruption trial, in which several political heavyweights including Colin Powell, Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.) and Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) are among the possible witnesses. (Anchorage Daily News)  Stevens pushed for the trial to be completed before his seventh term re-election bid in November.
