Governing Party Wins Angola Elections

Angola’s governing party won the country’s first elections in 16 years with 81% of the votes. (NYT) Unita, the country’s opposition party and a former rebel group conceded defeat giving the ruling party a measure of legitimacy in the country that has been ravaged by civil war for 27 of the last 33 years.
