Earnings Weigh On Wall Street, DJIA Falls 231

The Dow Jones industrial Average closed down 231 points, 2.5%, on Monday as poor quarterly earnings from Caterpillar, DuPont and several regional banks overshadowed signs of improvement in the credit markets.  The Nasdaq declined 4.1%. (NYT)
